Tax Senior or Supervisor

We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Tax Department.  Our tax team proactively services individuals and businesses to help clients minimize taxes and maximize growth. With ongoing continuing education, you’ll stay current on tax legislation to identify strategic tax planning opportunities for clients.

 Responsibilities

·         Prepare more advanced tax computations, workpapers, and tax entries  

·         Prepare some complex income tax returns (individual, partnership, multistate, corporate, and other) 

·         Review tax returns (individual, partnership, multistate, corporate and other) 

·         Assist with year-end planning and quarterly tax estimates 

·         Address IRS or State Taxing Authority notices and coordinate the preparation of a timely response 

·         Proactively coordinate, plan, and schedule work flow for effective engagement management  

·         Organize and coordinate clients’ income tax data for accurate and timely completion 

·         Review and assist in researching technical issues 

·         Verify the validity and accuracy of client financial matters 

·         Initiate and manage client communication with staff or Partner 

·         Identify and communicate tax planning ideas with a Manager/Partner 

·         Collaborate cross-departmentally to gather information and resolve client matters 

·         Demonstrate competency with necessary software 

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance degree 

·         2+ years of Public Accounting experience 

·         Tax preparation and review experience (Business) 

·         Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite 

·         Strong knowledge of Internal Revenue Code, tax law, and tax processes 

·         Familiarity of financial statement procedures and the ability to distinguish between material and immaterial items 

·         Familiarity of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge of review, compilation, and auditing standards 

·         Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data 

·         Ability to effectively delegate, supervise and review work of less experienced staff 

·         Ability to be flexible to changing circumstances and client needs and remain calm and poised 

·         Strong attention to detail 

The annual salary range for the Tax Senior position is: $72,000 - $102,000. The annual salary range for the Tax Supervisor position is $87,000 - $130,000 This salary range reflects the anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending upon an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Individuals may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of incentives, commissions, profit sharing, and more, depending on the role.
