Histotech - Mohs Surgery

Job Summary: A Histotech is responsible for preparing, processing and maintaining records of histologic specimens within the Mohs Surgery department. The Histotech follows Madison Medical specific standards of practice, policies and procedures. This part time position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Assistant Director of Clinic Operations, is within the Mohs Surgery Specialty, and is located in Mequon, WI.

What You’ll Do:

• Process tissue specimens for histologic examination.
• Preparing and staining microscopic slides for subsequent evaluation by the Mohs Surgeon.
• Perform all lab competencies and proficiency testing to maintain CLIA standards.
• Some of the work in this role will be done on the floor during the specimen collection process, and then in the lab for benchwork.

Key Qualifications & Characteristics

• Histotech Licensure/Certificationor
• Associate Degree or higher,or
• Histology experience,or
• HT(ASCP) or AAB certificationor
• 60 college semester hours with focus on Medical lab tech, Chemistry or Biology
