MQ Admin

Location: Mclean , VA - need local candidates only

Pay Range: 50-55/hr on W2

Introduction

We are seeking an expert IBM MQ Administrator to join our MQ team and be responsible for managing and maintaining our IBM MQ infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with development teams to ensure the availability and reliability of our messaging infrastructure to support our applications and services.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience with IBM MQSeries, including MQ clustering.
• At least 6 years of experience using Linux.
• At least 2 years of experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
• Must have previous client experience working for this customer in the past 5 years.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience with deployment tooling (devops tooling, Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, CICD).
• At least 2 years of experience with scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Infrared360, NewRelic, Splunk.
• Experience with AI tooling.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ servers and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor the performance of the IBM MQ servers and associated infrastructure, troubleshoot any issues, and take corrective action to resolve problems.
• Implement high availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Manage access controls, security configurations, and authentication protocols for IBM MQ servers.
• Configure and manage IBM MQ objects.
• Document IBM MQ infrastructure configurations and procedures.
• Join the teams on-call support rotation.
• Must have a pro-active, can-do mindset.
