Job Description (JD) – HCM Payroll Consultant (Indian Payroll) 

Position: HCM Payroll Consultant – Indian Payroll 

Experience: 9+ Years (or as required) 

Location: Mumbai 

Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced HCM Payroll Consultant with expertise in Indian Payroll processes, statutory compliance, payroll configuration, implementation, and support. The candidate will work closely with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to manage payroll operations and ensure compliance with Indian labor and tax regulations. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Configure and maintain payroll components within the HCM system. 

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Indian employees. 

• Configure payroll elements such as earnings, deductions, reimbursements, and benefits. 

• Handle statutory compliance including:  

• Provident Fund (PF) 

• Employee State Insurance (ESI) 

• Professional Tax (PT) 

• Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) 

• Income Tax (TDS) 

• Gratuity and Bonus processing  

• Perform payroll validations, reconciliations, and month-end activities. 

• Support payroll audits and statutory reporting. 

• Troubleshoot payroll-related issues and provide production support. 

• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams during implementations and enhancements. 

• Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDD), Solution Design Documents (SDD), and test scenarios. 

• Conduct SIT, UAT, and payroll parallel runs. 

Required Skills 

• Strong knowledge of Indian Payroll and statutory regulations. 

• Experience with payroll configuration, payroll elements, balances, and calculations.  

• Understanding of payroll processing cycles and retro-pay calculations.  

• Experience in payroll reporting and reconciliation. 

• Knowledge of HRMS/HCM modules and integrations. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience withOracle Fusion HCM Payroll,SAP HCM Payroll India, or similar payroll platforms. 

• Experience in payroll implementation and support projects. 

• Knowledge of Fast Formula, HDL/HCM Data Loader, or payroll interfaces (for Oracle HCM). 

Mandatory skill sets: 

SAP HCM 

Preferred skill sets: 

SAP Consulting, SAP SD, Implementation on S4HANA,
