Move Fest Volunteer

MOVE Fest Volunteer Opportunity

MOVE Fest takes place from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and includes fitness activations, seminar programming, a HOM Sound Bath, and an evening music festival.

What you will do

Volunteers support event operations throughout the day, including:

• Guest ticket check in
• Vendor support and vendor load in
• Fitness and seminar activations
• Guest wayfinding
• Event transitions
• General festival support

Skills and qualities that will help you succeed

• Welcoming, positive attitude. You are often the first person guests meet, so warmth and a calm presence set the tone.
• Clear communication. You will give quick, accurate directions and instructions in a busy, loud setting.
• Attention to detail. Ticket check in means confirming names, ticket types, and access levels, including general and VIP.
• Patience under pressure. Expect lines, questions, and some confused or frustrated guests. Staying composed keeps the event running smoothly.
• Quick learning and flexibility. Roles are assigned on arrival and can change based on event needs.
• Situational awareness. Knowing where activations are and what starts next lets you answer guest questions with confidence.
• Physical stamina. You will be on your feet for a full shift, and vendor load in may involve carrying and moving supplies.
• Teamwork. You will coordinate with staff, vendors, and other volunteers throughout the day.
• Initiative. If you see a guest who needs help or a task that needs doing, step in without waiting to be asked.
• Reliability and punctuality. Events run on a tight schedule, and every shift matters.

Helpful experience (not required)

Prior event, festival, or hospitality work, customer service or retail experience, ticketing or check in systems, and familiarity with the Arena District.

Volunteer shifts

• 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM
• 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM

Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled shift for check in, role assignments, and event day instructions. We will do our best to accommodate shift preferences, but final assignments may be based on event needs.

Volunteer perks

Volunteers who complete their scheduled shift receive complimentary access to MOVE Fest outside of their volunteer hours. Volunteers on the later shift (6:00 PM to 10:30 PM) receive complimentary VIP access.

Parking and arrival

Parking is paid by each vendor and participant. A KEMBA Live! event and a Columbus Blue Jackets game will also be in the Arena District that day, so expect heavier traffic, higher parking demand, and possible delays. We strongly recommend building extra time into your arrival plan so you are fully set and ready by the 1:30 PM deadline.

Parking rates that day:

• Flat lots west of Neil Ave (Lots H, B, F, R): $10
• Neil Ave Garage: $15
• McConnell Garage (Lot A): $25
