Job Summary:

Local business seeking a skilledMoulder Operatorto lead operations in a crucial division. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a team that prioritizes safety, quality, and efficiency in premium softwood manufacturing. The focus should be building a strong reputation for excellence in every aspect of its operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain mouldersto produce precision-milled lumber products.
  • Adjust cutting heads, feed speeds, and toolingto meet quality and production specifications.
  • Inspect finished productsto ensure they meet company and customer requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenanceon the moulder and troubleshoot mechanical or performance issues.
  • Train and mentor team memberson machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow and coordinate with other departmentsto optimize production efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policiesto maintain a hazard-free work environment.
  • Track production metrics and machine performance, reporting any issues to management.
  • Assist with tool changes and knife grindingas necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience operating mouldersor similar precision woodworking machines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with different wood species, grain patterns, and proper cutting techniques.
  • Experience withgrinding, setting up, and maintaining knivesfor optimal cutting performance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise others.
  • Understanding oflockout/tagout procedures and general sawmill safety.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of3-5 years of experiencein moulder operation.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
