Responsibility:
The Program Facilitator reports to the Financial Empowerment (FE) Manager and is accountable for the effective delivery of the FE program(s) assigned to the role. The role may involve working with adult and/or youth participants. Associated duties include performing community outreach, facilitating of educational workshops and information sessions, participant intake and assessment, participant data management, and comprehensive wraparound supports for participants through the program length. This position is responsible to meet the outcomes as specified by the program logic model and funder contract.
Objectives:
Intake and Assessment Outcomes:
- Implement and monitor marketing activities for FE programs.
- Deliver presentations about the program in the community and to Momentum staff and classes.
- Schedule and conduct program information sessions.
- Manage the interview and selection process as per Momentum and funder guidelines.
- Engage & select suitable candidates for the program, engaging other relevant team members (eg: FE Manager and FE Coordinator)
- Ensure unaccepted candidates are referred to other more appropriate interventions.
- Facilitate and deliver the information sessions associated with the program.
Program Management & Reporting
- Support the coordination and delivery of the assigned program, including scheduling workshops, guest speakers, and special events, while ensuring a high-quality participant experience.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with participants, providing ongoing support, monitoring progress, and maintaining a steady relationship online and through in-person interactions
- Implement evaluation and feedback.
- Workshop facilitation when needed.
- Enforce participants’ attendance, participation, and other program policies.
- Ensure program policies and procedures are in alignment with Momentum and funders.
- Contribute to internal and external reporting
- Consistently maintain accurate and updated participant records through the Dynamics 365 CRM
Participant Support
- Support participants’ day-to-day concerns, particularly with respect to the content, financial issues, personal matters, attendance, etc.
- Make appropriate referrals as required and follow up regarding outcomes.
- Maintain familiarity with the scope and variety of services and programs available to support participants.
Organizational and Community Involvement
- Attend team meetings, Momentum staff meetings, community meetings and events.
- Participate in organizational activities – Committees, monthly chores, reception cover off, etc.
- Maintain an awareness of issues in the broader community/economy affecting participants and the work of the program.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referring agencies. Ensure Momentum’s values are reflected in the work.
- Contribute to Momentum’s culture and shared accountability by working collaboratively with others and pitching in to get things done beyond the scope of one’s own role.
- Participate in team, Momentum and community meetings, committees, activities, and events as capacity allows.
- Attend relevant training, conferences, seminars, and workshops, as schedule allows.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- Post-secondary degree in Social Work or human services related field, Education, Communication or Business, complemented by other training or experience adult education or case management.
- Strong facilitation, instructional and/or public speaking skills
- Experience in program management, including evaluation and achieving results
- Experience in working with multi-cultural and/or highly barriered individuals of all ages
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and coordination skills
- Able to work well independently and within a team setting
- Good decision making and analytical skills
- Relevant experience in non-profit sector and working with volunteers
- Strong knowledge of financial literacy, an asset
- Strong computer literacy including MS Office suite and Outlook
