Model Risk Management (MRM) – Senior SME
Location: Remote
Overviewworks with financial institutions on complex, high-stakes regulatory and model risk initiatives. We engage senior, hands-on practitioners who can step in and execute across Model Risk Management programs—not just advise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Model Risk Management (MRM) and Model Validation activities across regulatory-driven initiatives (e.g., SR 11-7, CCAR, stress testing, capital and risk models)
- Support regulatory exams, audit remediation, and issue management, including direct interaction with regulators and internal audit
- Perform hands-on model reviews, validation support, documentation, and remediation execution
- Partner with business, quantitative, and technology teams to remediate model risk findings end-to-end
- Drive execution across enterprise programs involving risk, finance, and regulatory reporting
- Contribute to SDLC, testing, governance, and control design related to model risk frameworks
- 25+ years of hands-on experience in Model Risk Management, Model Validation, or related regulatory risk roles
- Deep experience within large financial institutions (banks, investment banks, GSEs, or regulators)
- Demonstrated success executing regulatory and audit remediation—not advisory-only work
- Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and examiner interactions
- Experience working across one or more of the following profiles:
- Business-side MRM / regulatory execution
- Quantitative model risk / validation
- Technology or systems supporting model risk programs
- Senior, execution-focused work on complex regulatory problems
- Remote-friendly, flexible consulting engagements
- High-impact assignments requiring deep expertise and credibility
