Job Summary:Â
Â
The Security Guard protects the guests, employees, property, and assets of the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza and the Moapa Band of Paiute Indians. Working assigned shifts, securitymaintains a visible, professional presence throughout the plaza, parking lots, and surrounding grounds. The guard deters and responds to theft, disturbances, and safety hazards; enforces plaza policies and applicable laws; and provides courteousassistance to travelers. The position requires sound judgment, strong observation skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.Â

Duties:Â
- Patrol the interior and exterior of the travel plaza on foot,monitoring for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy or code violations.Â
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, loitering, and disorderly conduct.Â
- Monitor access points; document and report unusual activity.Â
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, medical situations, takingappropriate action and notifying supervisors and emergency services as needed.Â
- Enforce plaza rules and applicable federal, state, and tribal laws, including age-restricted sales policies for tobacco and other regulated products.Â
- De-escalate conflicts and disturbances calmly and professionally; remove or detain individuals only whenwarranted andin accordance with policy and law.Â
- Assist guests and employees with directions, vehicle lockouts, escorts, lost-and-found items, and other reasonable requests.Â
- Write clear,accurate, and complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift summaries.Â
- Secure doors, gates, fuel islands, and cash-handling areas; support opening and closing procedures.Â
- Observe and report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, spills, and maintenance needs.Â
- Provide traffic and crowd control during busy periods, events, and emergencies.Â
- Cooperate with tribal police, local law enforcement, and emergency responders during investigations and incidents.Â
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information andevidence.Â
- Perform other duties as assigned.Â

Requirements:Â
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.Â
- Must be at least 21 years of age.Â
- Valid Nevada driver's license and an insurable driving record.Â
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.Â
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear incident reports.Â
- Basic computer skills for logging incidents.Â
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods throughout an entire shift.Â
- Ability to run, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.Â
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme desert heat, and indoors in a busy retail and fuel-service environment.Â
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient tomonitor surroundings and surveillance equipment.Â
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and to physically intervene when necessary andappropriate.Â
- Work is performed 24/7; the position requires availability for rotating day, swing, and graveyard shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Â
PreferredÂ
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, corrections, or a related field.Â
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to obtain within a defined period afterhire).Â
- Familiarity with the Moapa community and tribal customs.Â
