About the Role

Bedford Commons OB-GYN is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient-focusedMedical Assistant to join our clinical team. The Medical Assistant provides essential clinical and administrative support to physicians and clinical staff while helping ensure a positive, safe, and respectful experience for every patient.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, collaborating with a team, and providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and interview patients, obtain visit information, and document relevant medical information.
  • Obtain and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and other measurements.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures while maintaining their comfort, dignity, and privacy.
  • Assist physicians and clinical providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Perform clinical procedures within the scope of training, certification, practice policy, and applicable regulations.
  • Administer injections as directed and within applicable scope of practice.
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures and testing as assigned.
  • Process, label, store, and dispose of specimens according to established procedures.
  • Accurately document clinical activities and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Provide and reinforce patient instructions and education according to provider orders and established protocols.
  • Prepare, clean, disinfect, and maintain examination rooms between patient visits.
  • Ensure examination rooms are properly stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be reordered or replaced.
  • Review patient charts approximately 24–48 hours before appointments and ensure necessary records, referrals, labs, and documentation are available.
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, safety, and other applicable healthcare requirements.
  • Participate in required training, including CPR and annual safety training.
  • Maintain required certifications and credentials.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, providers, coworkers, and visitors.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teams to support efficient patient flow and daily operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by practice management.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant programor 2–3 years of relevant Medical Assistant experience in a physician's office, clinic, or healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage frequent interruptions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

Schedule & Location

Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Schedule may vary slightly based on office location and operational needs. This position is primarily assigned to Bedford location but requires travel between Bedford, Derry, Londonderry, and Windham offices.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

    Compensation 

    Starting at $21.00/hour; higher compensation considered based on experience
