Location: Quincy, MA
Start Date: ASAP (approximately 3 weeks after acceptance)
Work Location Note: Public transportation accessible. Onsite parking is not available for contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with business stakeholders.
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and system requirements.
- Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases based on documented requirements.
- Execute and review test runs, validate results, and provide sign-off for testing components.
- Support all phases of the system development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, testing, implementation, and stabilization.
- Assist in developing end-user training materials and system documentation.
- Support release stabilization activities, monitor system changes, identify issues, and coordinate resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure business requirements are clearly defined, implemented, and tested.
- Communicate project updates, system changes, and relevant information to impacted stakeholders.
- Represent the MMIS team in business meetings as needed.
- Provide support to program staff, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding MMIS-related questions and concerns.
- Perform data queries, data validation, and analysis to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Provide backup support to other Business Analysts as required.
- Strong business analysis experience supporting the system project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in SQL for data queries, validation, and analysis.
- Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience developing test cases, executing tests, and supporting UAT.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, developers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, QA/SQA teams, business users, data processing teams, vendors, and external agencies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Experience with MMIS or Medicaid-related healthcare systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA healthcare claims and payment transaction processing.
- Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Experience participating in JAD sessions and coordinating with external vendors.
- Experience supporting system releases, production stabilization, defect resolution, and implementation activities.
- Experience developing end-user training materials and documentation.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;or
- Equivalent experience in a healthcare administration setting.
