Migration Engineer

• Build and maintain migration validation scripts and a reusable validation script library indexed by data domain and migration stage.
• Own the technical execution of migrations infrastructure setup, application deployment, configuration and connectivity.
• Design and implement automation to reduce manual effort across migration waves.
• Own data mapping, validation, DQ checks and issue triage across migration waves.
• Run structured retrospectives after each migration capturing what worked, what didn't and what needs to change.
• Drive the continuous improvement loop ensuring learnings from each wave are incorporated into the next.
• Support cutover planning and execution for each wave ensuring technical components are ready, tested and verified before each migration goes live.
• Contribute to the migration runbook keeping it live, accurate and improving with every delivery cycle.
• Work closely with the Migration Governance Lead to ensure execution aligns with the governance framework.

What We Are Looking For

• 5–10 years of experience in data migration, data engineering, ETL delivery or data warehousing.
• Experience in supporting issue resolution, data validation, reconciliation, performance monitoring, operational support
• Must have delivered at least one end-to-end migration project in a hands-on capacity.
• Strong background in data mapping, validation and reconciliation.
• Experience building validation frameworks, automation scripts or migration tooling.
• Comfortable embedding with an existing team and gradually taking ownership.
• Detail-oriented able to run structured retrospectives and translate findings into process improvements.
• Comfortable working onsite in a client-embedded model.
• Experience on public sector programmes is a plus.

Technical Skills

• SQL strong query writing, data validation and script development.
• Python scripting for automation, validation frameworks and data processing.
• AWS hands-on experience with infrastructure setup, deployment and services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Glue for managing, executing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and validating ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data migration workflows using Glue Jobs
• PostgreSQL or equivalent relational database platforms.
• ETL tooling or data warehousing platforms hands-on experience required.
