The Spence School is seeking a full-time leave replacement in Middle and Upper School Visual Arts. Responsibilities

• Teach three Middle and Upper School Visual Arts classes, including general art, printmaking, and sculpture.
• Other duties and responsibilities in Middle and Upper School
• Share in the responsibilities for maintaining the ceramics studio.
• Participate in department-wide initiatives addressing equity, pedagogy, and curriculum.
• Cultivate and maintain a classroom culture of openness, mutual respect, kindness, and inquiry.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Has sustained experience teaching visual arts to middle and/or upper school students in a range of media.
• Enjoys working with middle and upper school students and participating in school life.
• Approaches work with optimism, energy, kindness, and a sense of humor.
• Demonstrates cultural competency and actively engages with and learns from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Values collaboration as essential for professional growth and enjoys working as part of a team.
• Has a master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
