Microsoft 365 Purview & Data Governance Lead (Advisory)
Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Purview Consultant to lead the Security, Compliance, and Data Governance workstream for a critical M365 Advisory engagement. This strategic role focuses on assessment, risk identification, and roadmap development rather than hands-on technical implementation.
Responsibilities
Workshop Leadership Facilitate deep-dive discussions with client stakeholders on data protection and regulatory requirements.
Current State Assessment: Evaluate the existing M365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, against industry best practices and security posture.
Strategic Deliverables Author the 'Security & Compliance Assessment' and contribute to the 'M365 Advisory & Impact Guide' and the '12-month Phased Implementation Roadmap.'IRR Management Identify and document specific Issues, Risks, and Recommendations (IRR) related to data leakage, insider risk, and non-compliance.
Validation: Participate in QA & Validation sessions to refine findings and ensure technical accuracy before the Executive Briefing.
Mandatory Skills
Deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, including Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Data Lifecycle Management, and eDiscovery.
Strong understanding of Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, and Audit logging.
Knowledge of how Purview integrates with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Conditional Access policies.
Familiarity with Entra ID (Azure AD) identity signals and their impact on Purview-based access and protection policies.
Proven track record in delivering strategic roadmaps and executive-level presentations in a consulting capacity.
Preferred SkillsCertifications:
Microsoft 365 Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate (SC-400) or Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100).
Experience in regulated industries, preferably Utilities/Energy sector.Strong documentation skills to translate complex technical risks into business-oriented recommendations for executive leadership.
