We are seeking an experiencedBusiness Development Manager to direct our Industrial Gases investment and growth strategy in Hungary. This is a prominent leadership role responsible for identifying significant investment opportunities, establishing strategic alliances, and encouraging sustained profitable growth throughout Hungary.

What you'll do

As the Business Development Manager, you will handle the identification, development, and delivery of strategic investment projects related to the Industrial Gases business. You will partner with senior customers, government partners, and internal leadership teams to formulate Air Products' growth strategy and advance complex investment opportunities.

Your key responsibilities will include

✔️ Directing business growth and investment efforts throughout Hungary, from spotting opportunities to completion

✔️ Building and handling a pipeline of strategic growth opportunities, including greenfield developments, asset expansions, and partnership opportunities

✔️ Driving commercial negotiations, deal structuring, and investment proposals for capital projects

✔️ Developing strategic relationships with customers, partners, government authorities, and industry collaborators

✔️ Leading major projects through Financial Investment Decision (FID) readiness and supporting successful execution

✔️ Crafting competitive commercial and technical solutions in collaboration with engineering, operations, finance, legal, and project delivery teams

✔️ Handling the commercial outcomes and contract oversight of existing industrial gas assets

✔️ Leading and progressing Business Development and Contract Management teams

✔️ Handling government relations and supporting regulatory approvals for key investment projects

✔️ Ensuring compliance with company governance, risk management, safety, and environmental standards

What you will bring

✅ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field

✅ 10+ years of experience in business development, commercial leadership, investment delivery, or strategic project development

✅ Consistent track record of developing, negotiating, and closing complex investment projects and long-term commercial agreements

✅ Experience working in industrial gases, energy, chemicals, manufacturing, infrastructure, or related sectors

✅ Strong understanding of project financing, investment cases, cash flow modelling, and commercial evaluation

✅ Experience leading large-scale capital investment projects from concept development through approval and contracting

✅ Validated ability to engage and influence senior executives, customers, investors, and government collaborators

✅ Strong leadership experience, including leading teams and operating successfully within matrix organisations

✅ Outstanding communication, collaborator management and negotiation skills

✅ Proficiency in Hungarian and English

✅ Willingness to travel as required

Nice to have

➕ Experience with hydrogen, syngas, gasification, carbon capture, ASU, or other industrial gas technologies

➕ Experience in mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships

➕ Previous responsibility for industrial asset management and contract governance

➕ International business development experience
