About the Opportunity:Â
Chelsea Piers seeks an experienced, high-level, positive, and motivated coach to work with our Development Program Men's Competitive Team, Pre-Team through Level 10. Candidates must have at least five years of experience working with Men's Gymnastics. Candidates must also have strong spotting abilities, think creatively in a busy gym, be a team player, and able to critique athletes in a positive manner.Â
Responsibilities:Â
Coach Development Program athletes (Pre-Team through Level 10) across all six men’s eventsÂ
Implement team training plans as directed by the Head Coach, adapting daily workouts to each athlete’s progressionÂ
Set and maintain high performance standards for skill development, strength, flexibility, and competitive readinessÂ
Teach and safely spot advanced skills on all events using proper progressions and injury-prevention practicesÂ
Prepare athletes for competition, including routine development, meet preparation, and in-meet coachingÂ
Travel with the team for competitions, including weekends and out-of-town meetsÂ
Track athlete progress and provide regular feedback aligned with seasonal goalsÂ
Communicate clearly and professionally with athletes, parents, and staff, including progress updates and goal settingÂ
Uphold USA Gymnastics SafeSport standards and maintain all required certifications and membershipsÂ
Collaborate with coaching staff and support evaluations, tryouts, camps, and program eventsÂ
Create a positive, disciplined, and athlete-centered training environmentÂ
Perform additional duties as needed to support the success of the programÂ

Qualifications
About You:Â
You are dependable, energetic, and passionate about gymnastics and working with children. You have an extensive knowledge of gymnastics and are professional and courteous. You have:Â
A minimum of five years of experience coaching DP Men's competitive gymnasticsÂ
Ability to work evenings and weekendsÂ
Excellent spotting skills on all gymnastics events and knowledge of skill progressionÂ
Up-to-date USA Gymnastics Safety Certification & SafeSport CertificationsÂ
Ability to create and/or follow lesson plans that fit within the program curriculumÂ
Excellent customer service and communication skills, internally and externallyÂ
Strong organizational skills and attention to detailÂ
Ability to work in a team environment and exhibit a positive attitudeÂ
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or moreÂ
Ability to be standing or moving for multiple hoursÂ
Ability to see and hear athletes clearly in a busy environmentÂ
