CULTIVATION MANAGER
POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE | Membership Cultivation Manager |
DEPARTMENT | Membership + Programming |
REPORTS TO | Director of Membership |
TYPE | Full-Time · On-Site |
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Membership Cultivation Manager is the dedicated acquisition role for The Club at The Moore — the top rung of the Membership team's career ladder, accountable for 60% of the team's annual sales goal. This is a sales and relationship role for someone with deep knowledge of Miami's professional and cultural landscape and the discipline to move the right people from first conversation to closed initiation.
You don't wait for leads. You build a living referral network, show up where our future members already gather, and hold membership conversations that feel less like a pitch and more like a well-timed introduction to a room someone has been looking for. You report to the Director of Membership and work alongside the Senior Member Relations Manager and Member Relations Manager, both of whom also contribute to sales.
The Moore is a transformation business. We are not selling amenities or square footage — we offer membership in a community that helps people become who they could not become alone. You will not simply fill seats. You will help compose the room.
YOU ARE
A natural connector with commercial discipline. You know that inviting someone into a membership is about trust, timing, taste, and fit — not pressure. You move between gallery openings, business dinners, and one-on-one conversations with equal ease, and leave each one with a relationship, a referral, or a closed initiation. You take the quality of the community personally; its integrity is part of what you're selling.
Â
The close should feel like recognition, not persuasion. |

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
PIPELINE DEVELOPMENT & OUTBOUND ACQUISITION
- Own the new membership funnel end to end — sourcing, qualifying, touring, and closing.
- Build and run a personal outbound strategy grounded in referral cultivation, strategic networking, and event-based lead generation.
- Lead acquisition campaigns with the Director of Membership and Marketing, from audience targeting through conversion.
- Lead corporate and institutional opportunities — District memberships, Workplace adjacencies, and organizational partnerships — with the Director of Membership.
ENTRY-TIER CONVERSION
- Own conversion of 90-Day and Summer at The Moore members into full membership. Every cohort is a pipeline of prospects already inside the house.
- Run a structured cadence for each cohort — at signing, mid-term, and ahead of the 90-day decision — shaped by how each member actually uses the club, and report conversion against plan.
MEMBERSHIP CONVERSATIONS & TOUR CONVERSION
- Lead membership conversations and tours tailored to each prospect's context, motivations, and unstated aspirations.
- Handle hesitation consultatively: hear the real concern, address it, and move toward commitment with clarity.
- Uphold the admissions standards and invitation discipline that keep the community coherent and membership meaningful.
ONBOARDING CONTINUITY
- Stay in active relationship with each member you close through their first 90 days, coordinating with the Senior Member Relations Manager. The handoff should be personal, not administrative.
- At 30 days, confirm their first visit has happened, surface any early friction, and make a specific introduction or event recommendation based on the membership conversation.
REFERRAL NETWORK, PRESENCE & PROGRAMMING
- Grow a referral ecosystem — members, Ambassadors, corporate contacts, key connectors, and cultural allies — that produces qualified, consistent prospect flow.
- Pursue four to six external partnerships a year with galleries, design institutions, design-led brands, investment forums, or cultural organizations that deliver qualified leads and brand alignment.
- Represent The Moore at external events and stay visible on the club floor. Members who feel recognized refer more.
- Partner with Programming to bring prospects into concerts, salons, culinary events, and private gatherings that let the community make the case for itself.
PIPELINE MANAGEMENT & REPORTING
- Keep complete CRM records from inquiry through close, with consistent source attribution and follow-up documentation.
- Coordinate lead routing and sales attribution with the Senior Member Relations Manager and Member Relations Manager so shared pipeline and commission credit stay clear.
- Give the Director of Membership weekly pipeline updates, contribute to monthly acquisition reporting, and flag which referral sources are producing, need cultivation, or have gone quiet.
POSITION ON THE CAREER LADDER
The Membership team is a single progression: Membership Coordinator, Member Relations Manager, Senior Member Relations Manager, Membership Cultivation Manager. Each role inherits the one beneath it. You know the base — billing, PeopleVine, member service, on-floor hospitality — cold and can cover when needed, but your day-to-day time is protected for acquisition.
Â
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
- New membership sales revenue against this role's 60% share of the annual team goal, reviewed monthly and quarterly.
- Conversion of 90-Day and Summer at The Moore members to full membership, by cohort.
- Tour-to-initiation conversion: benchmark 30–40%.
- Average value per close and tier mix (Moore, Couple, 30 & Under, District, Century) against plan.
- First-year retention among members closed by this role: target 85% or higher.
- Referral source quality and growth, by volume and conversion rate per source.
- Four to six new lead-generating partnerships per year.
- CRM completeness and pipeline hygiene.
- Qualitative: are the members you bring in making the room better?
2027 SALES GOAL
This role carries 60% of the Membership team's FY 2027 goal: 300 new members. Monthly targets follow the club's seasonal rhythm — fullest January through May and in October and November, lighter through the summer — and are reviewed quarterly with the Director of Membership.
COMPENSATION
Base salary commensurate with experience, plus commission on each new member initiation.
PRACTICAL DETAILS
This role requires evening and weekend availability for programming, tours, and external events. Worked holidays are compensated with time off in lieu. As the Membership and Programming division evolves under unified leadership, responsibilities may grow.
