About the Position

Medical Hill Healthcare Center is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experiencedMedical Records Director to oversee the management, maintenance, and security of resident medical records. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate documentation, maintain confidentiality, and support compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the organization, maintenance, and retention of resident medical records.
• Ensure medical records are accurate, complete, current, and readily accessible to authorized personnel.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality requirements.
• Monitor medical record documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate medical record audits and assist with regulatory surveys.
• Manage requests for medical records and ensure appropriate authorization and timely processing.
• Develop and maintain effective filing, tracking, and record-retention systems.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical, and administrative staff to resolve documentation issues.
• Train and support staff on medical records procedures and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain policies and procedures in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical records management, preferably in a skilled nursing or post-acute healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records confidentiality requirements.
• Familiarity with healthcare documentation standards and regulatory compliance.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and standard computer applications.
• Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
