Rockaway, New Jersey 07866Performs a variety of front desk activities (answering phones/greeting patients) that support the Center and professional staff and performs a variety of essential services (checking-in, checking-out, etc.) as directed or requested by Practice Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
The duties include, but are not limited to:Â Â
- Assist with/complete all Front Desk operations and the use of the Practice Management system to ensure efficient patient registration and check out processes.Â
- Greeting patients and verifying/inputting demographic information into Practice management system.Â
- Collecting and inputting all valid licenses and insurance information.Â
- Collecting and posting all co-payments and payments made at time of service.Â
- Maintaining/organizing patient documents/filesÂ
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, taking messagesÂ
- Reconciling co-pays and time of service payments collected dailyÂ
- Filing/labeling/sending outbound and inbound faxesÂ
- Maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling patient’s medical records and information.Â
- May perform charge entry process.Â
- Completing referrals for a specialistÂ
- Prior authorization requests from patients and/or providersÂ
- Filing any/all paperworkÂ
Â
- Rooming patients when checked in and provider is ready to treat the patientÂ
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedÂ
Qualifications or Education, Training and ExperienceÂ
- High School graduate or equivalent. Computer literacy required.Â
- 1-2 years of previous customer service/data entry, administrative/office management/clerical experience required.Â
- Experience of working in the health or other public sector organization helpful, but not necessary.Â

- Read, understands, and follows oral and written instruction.Â
- Exceptional customer service skillsÂ
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systemsÂ
- Ability and willingness to help patients with check in or check out processÂ
- Work may require hand dexterity for telephone and office machine operation.Â
- Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies.Â
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier and such other office equipment as necessary.Â
- Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contact.Â
- It is necessary to view computer screens for long periods and to work in an environment that may be stressfulÂ

The compensation range for this position is $18.00/hour– $22.00/hour. Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.Â
