MUST:
The Surgical Scheduler Administrative Assistant should have the following experience:
7+ years of recent experience in a busy multi provider surgical or specialty practice
Managing providers schedulers to ensure procedure slots are filled
Scheduling surgical procedures
Obtaining pre-authorizations and following up on denied procedures to get approved
Posting surgical procedures
Experience working for a high volume multi provider specialty practice
Checking in and registering patients
Reviewing paperwork with patients and ensuring that it is complete
Providing patient education
Collecting and processing payments
Posting payments to patient accounts
Documenting and updating patient information in EMR
Experience working in a fast paced multi provider office
High attention to detail
DUTIES:
The duties of the Patient Registration Clerk -Medical Scheduler include but are not limited to the following
Answer phones
Schedule appointments and procedures
Handle calendar management of procedures
Obtain pre-authorizations and following up on denials to get approved
Check patients in and registering
Assist patients with completing paperwork, ensuring all information obtained is complete and accurate.
Resolve outstanding Alerts on pending appointments at the time of patient arrival and ensure that no required information and referrals are missing
Update patient Demographic/Insurance Information
Enter relevant data, linking to the appropriate appointment/visit and ensure all required data elements are captured.
Collect payments
Post payments to patients' account
