Mechanical Fitter

We are looking for skilled Mechanical Fitter / Excavator Drivers to operate excavators on civil

engineering projects while also carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance on

excavators and other plant equipment. This is a dual-role position requiring both machine

operating and mechanical fitting experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently

• Excavation for drainage, utilities and underground services

• Ground reduction and site preparation

• Digging around live services with precision

• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on excavators

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on excavators and plant equipment

• Minimise equipment downtime through effective maintenance

• Complete daily machine inspections and maintenance records

• Follow all site health & safety procedures

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience operating tracked excavators

• Strong mechanical fitting experience on construction plant

• Competent working around live underground services

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults

• Good understanding of hydraulic and diesel systems

• Valid excavator certification/licence

• Strong commitment to health & safety
