Mechanical Fitter

The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and continuous improvement of mechanical equipment within a cereal seed processing facility. The role ensures that plant machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support production targets, quality standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Good level of English-speaking ability and communication skills
• Works well in a team environment.
• Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, or equivalent trade certification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably in a feed mill or seed/grain handling plant.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, chain drives, pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to drive counter balance forklifts and high reach or competence that can drive these.
• Willingness to carry out general operative duties when not repair equipment is essential.
