Job Description

We are seeking aMechanical Engineer IV / Dimensional Engineer with strong expertise ingeometry control, 3D tolerance analysis, dimensional variation analysis, and GD&T to support AR/VR hardware development.

The engineer will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure dimensional requirements are properly defined, analyzed, measured, and controlled from concept through production.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree inEngineering, Mathematics, or Physics
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Strong experience withgeometry control and dimensional engineering
• 3D tolerance analysis
• Variation analysis
• StrongGD&T knowledge based onASME Y14.5
• Experience with at least one:
  • VisVSA
  • 3DCS
  • CETOL
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including:
  • Machining
  • Injection molding
  • 3D printing
• Concept-to-production product development experience
• Experience working with manufacturing teams and suppliers
• Experience supportingGage R&R and measurement processes

Key Responsibilities

• Perform3D tolerance and variation analysis for mechanical hardware.
• Establish and maintaindimensional requirements and geometry controls.
• ApplyGD&T / ASME Y14.5 to engineering drawings and product designs.
• Analyze manufacturing variation and identify sources of dimensional issues.
• SupportGage R&R and measurement-system activities.
• Work with suppliers to resolve dimensional and manufacturing issues.
• Partner with design and manufacturing engineers throughoutconcept-to-production development.
• Support machining, molding, and additive-manufacturing processes.
• Use statistical and engineering analysis to improve product dimensional quality.
• Communicate analysis results and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
