Mechanical Designer – Ground Support Equipment

PGS Worldwide is seeking aMechanical Designer – Ground Support Equipment in Cape Canaveral, Florida for an approximately eleven-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support mechanical ground support equipment design by developing and maintaining 3D models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and production documentation used for handling, lifting, testing, assembly, and transportation applications.

Required Skills

• Experience with mechanical design and CAD-based product development.

• Proficiency withPTC Creo for 3D modeling and drawing development.

• Experience creating and modifying parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings.

• Knowledge ofASME Y14.5 drafting and GD&T practices.

• Experience preparing production detail drawings.

• Ability to create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs).

• Experience supporting engineering drawing and CAD maintenance and verification.

• Ability to work with engineers and cross-functional teams on mechanical design activities.

• U.S. citizenship required.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and revise 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering layouts using Creo.

• Create parts, assemblies, BOMs, simplified representations, and shrinkwrap models.

• Support mechanical ground support equipment used for handling, lifting, testing, assembly, and transportation.

• Prepare production detail drawings in accordance with established engineering drafting standards.

• Complete drawing layouts prepared by engineering team members.

• Maintain and verify engineering documentation and CAD data.

• Modify designs to improve product quality and manufacturability.

• Support cross-discipline product-development activities involving mechanical and electrical components.

Pay

• $40.00–$43.00 per hour.
