What to Expect
Join Vehicle Engineering in Berlin to build a world of amazing abundance. You will help design the next generation of Tesla products. You will work in a flat, highly collaborative team where technical contribution matters at every level. You will be expected to challenge and be challenged, to create, to innovate. We move fast, we build real products, and we work on some of the most ambitious automotive programs in the world. That should excite you.Â
Be part of a growing Closures engineering team, executing, and launching products for Europe and global markets. You will own the window regulator: the mechanism that lifts glass, the kinematics that keep it stable, and the integration that makes a Tesla door feel like one system — from first sketch through production.Â
What You’ll Do
- Own mechanical design of window regulator systems: motors, cables, tracks, linkages, and glass attachmentsÂ
- Apply kinematics, dynamics, force analysis, and tolerance stack-ups to build reliable lift mechanismsÂ
- Specify designs in 3D (CATIA V5/3DX) and 2D, including GD&T and component specsÂ
- Drive virtual and physical validation (kinematics, FEA, multi-body dynamics, prototype testing) until targets are metÂ
- Hit performance on glass stability, effort, NVH, durability, cost, weight, and manufacturabilityÂ
- Partner with body, closures, electrical, glass, interiors, manufacturing, studio, and suppliers from concept through build
What You’ll Bring
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience, with evidence of exceptional abilityÂ
- Strong fundamentals in mechanism design, kinematics, or moving systems — from internships and student projects to years of production ownershipÂ
- CAD fluency (CATIA V5/3DX preferred) and comfort reading CAE/kinematics resultsÂ
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and DFM — or a fast path to building itÂ
- Bias toward ownership: you take designs from idea to hardware, improve the process, and communicate clearly across teamsÂ
Nice to haveÂ
- Automotive window regulators, seat mechanisms, or similar motion systemsÂ
- Frameless drop glazing / flush glassÂ
- Supplier collaboration on mechanism developmentÂ
This role is open to all levels. Junior engineers grow into full ownership. Experts set architecture for the next generation. If you can design a mechanism that works — and prove it — we want to talk.Â
