What to Expect

Join Vehicle Engineering in Berlin to build a world of amazing abundance. You will help design the next generation of Tesla products. You will work in a flat, highly collaborative team where technical contribution matters at every level. You will be expected to challenge and be challenged, to create, to innovate.  We move fast, we build real products, and we work on some of the most ambitious automotive programs in the world. That should excite you.

Be part of a growing Closures engineering team, executing, and launching products for Europe and global markets. You will own exterior glass: how it looks, how it performs, and how it integrates into the door. From heater grids and coatings to seals, trim, and assembly — you take glazing from concept through production.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, engineer, and launch fixed/dynamic glazing systems
  • Package and integrate glass with Autopilot, thermal, antenna, mechanisms, interiors, and sealing
  • Specify designs in 3D and 2D (CATIA V5/3DX), including GD&T and component specs
  • Drive CAE and physical testing, then iterate until appearance, function, quality, cost, and weight targets are met
  • Optimize heater grids, coatings, and interlayers to improve performance and reduce optical defects
  • Design for high-volume manufacturing and world-class assembly processes
  • Partner with Design Studio, manufacturing, and suppliers from feasibility through prototype and production builds

What You’ll Bring

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience, with evidence of exceptional ability
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and mechanics of materials, with creative problem-solving
  • CAD fluency (CATIA V5/3DX preferred) and comfort reading CAE/NVH results
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM — or a fast path to building it
  • Bias toward ownership: you take designs from idea to hardware, improve the process, and communicate clearly across teams

Nice to have

  • Consumer product or automotive design experience
  • Glazing, ceramics, or advanced manufacturing
  • Supplier collaboration from concept through production

This role is open to all levels. Junior engineers grow into full ownership. Experts set architecture for the next generation. If you can take a glazing system from concept to production — we want talk.
