Mechanical Design Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking aMechanical Design Engineer in Grand Prairie, Texas for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support mechanical design and product development activities involving complex assemblies, 3D modeling, GD&T, and manufacturing-focused design.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 4+ years.
• 3+ years of experience usingCreo for mechanical design.
• 2+ years of experience usingWindchill PLM/PDM.
• 4+ years of experience creating finished3D models.
• 2+ years of experience withGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• 2+ years of experience working with complex mechanical and electrical concepts.
• Experience designing mechanical primary and secondary structures.
• Experience supporting concept development and design reviews.

Preferred Skills

• Experience withModel-Based Definition (MBD).

What You’ll Do

• Design major mechanical components, assemblies, and portions of complex systems.
• Develop 3D models, layouts, sketches, and detailed design documentation.
• Evaluate manufacturability, materials, equipment availability, interchangeability, and design efficiency.
• Develop mechanical primary and secondary structural designs.
• Prepare technical content for design reviews.
• Apply GD&T requirements to engineering designs and drawings.
• Review completed layouts and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Identify design deficiencies and recommend revisions or improvements.
• Coordinate design activities with engineering, manufacturing, and other affected organizations.

Pay

• $71.92 per hour.
