Groundhand (Aerial Fiber Crew)

McCall-Thomas Engineering Company is seeking a 1099 (Contractor) Groundhand for work requiring require travel in the Southeast, with current projects in SC, GA and NC.

Benefits are not offered for contract (1099) hires, but if this position transitions to a regular full-time employee of McCall-Thomas, benefits would be available at the time of transition.

ThisAerial Fiber Groundhand contractor will be working alongside our team of dedicated individuals committed to our mission of providing quality solutions and services to each of our clients. 

The primary responsibilities for this role: 

• Work as a part of an aerial fiber line crew
• Load, unload, layout and prep tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site
• Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Lineman, Lead, or Supervisor
• Handle physically demanding construction duties as needed

What Will You Need:

• High School diploma or GED
  
• Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
• Ability to follow instructions and use good communication skills
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, dig, and reach
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to travel regularly in the Southeast (current work is in GA, SC, NC)
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in all types of weather conditions
• Commitment to working safely

This is a 1099 Contractor position without benefits. Conversion to a regular full-time position with benefits is not guaranteed.
