Accounting Specialist

Merritt Contracting is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team!

Merritt Contracting is a well-established, locally operated company withover 26 years of experience in the construction industry. Our company includes bothconcrete and civil construction divisions, providing quality construction services throughout the Lebanon and Indianapolis Metro areas. We typically bid and perform work within approximately a60-mile radius of our Lebanon office.

We are looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-orientedAccounting Specialist to join our office team. This is aMonday–Friday, in-office position at our Lebanon, Indiana location.

Position Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Enter and maintain accounting records accurately
• Assist with billings and customer accounts
• Process vendor invoices and payments
• Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end processes
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal staff regarding accounting questions
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
• Assist HR when needed

Qualifications

• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player
