About the Job:

As a Material Specialist, you will ensure that field crews and jobsites have the exact materials and equipment they need, precisely when they need them. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking inventory, coordinating material deliveries, and inspecting incoming supplies to ensure everything meets utility safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track stock levels, log incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintain precise database records.
  • Work closely with suppliers and logistics teams to prevent material shortages, minimize costs, and keep construction schedules on track.
  • Inspect all incoming materials for defects and verify that components match technical utility specifications.
  • Safely operate yard equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to organize, load, and transport heavy stock.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related experience, preferably in construction or electrical utilities.
  • High school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years old to operate powered industrial trucks.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record matching company policy.
  • Forklift and OSHA 10-Hour Construction safety certifications preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with digital inventory tracking or mobile ERP systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor (bending, pushing, pulling) outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and familiarity with PPE standards and safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills and basic math proficiency for accurate inventory tracking.

Work Authorization:

  • You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $35.00 an hour based on experience.
    • We reserve the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range based on factors unrelated to sex.
