Material Expediter

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Material Expediter in Aiken, South Carolina for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support manufacturing operations by moving and staging parts, fixtures, and weldments while helping maintain an efficient and safe production workflow.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of relevant manufacturing, production, or material-handling experience.
• Forklift experience and certification or qualification.
• Crane and rigging experience with applicable certification or qualification.
• Ability to successfully complete required crane and rigging training within two months of hire.
• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic problem-solving skills in machining, welding, or production environments.
• Ability to review production paperwork before moving material to subsequent operations.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of material-handling experience.
• Experience using pallet lifts, sit-down or stand-up forklifts, cranes, rigging equipment, or similar material-handling equipment.
• Experience supporting machining or welding operations.

What You'll Do

• Move and stage parts, weldments, fixtures, and other production materials between operations.
• Load and unload components onto weld tables and fixtures.
• Stage work in production and designated Client-down areas.
• Review paperwork before transferring work to the next manufacturing operation.
• Inspect materials for visible damage or other issues during movement.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, carts, rigging equipment, magnets, and related material-handling tools.
• Locate and transport fixtures and production equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Provide general shop support to help maintain production flow and schedules.
