Master Scheduler – Aerospace Manufacturing

We are seeking aMaster Scheduler to support our manufacturing operations by developing, maintaining, and executing the master production schedule.

 

 

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll work closely with  Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Program Management to ensure customer requirements are translated into executable manufacturing plans while maintaining capacity balance, material availability, and on-time delivery performance.

 

The ideal candidate possesses strong experience with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, capacity planning, and aerospace manufacturing processes. Experience with Epicor Kinetic ERP is strongly preferred. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

Production Scheduling & Planning 

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule to support customer delivery commitments.  
  • Create, monitor, and adjust production schedules based on customer demand, capacity constraints, material availability, and changing priorities.  
  • Evaluate machine, labor, and resource capacity to identify bottlenecks and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts.  
  • Coordinate priorities across CNC machining, assembly, inspection, and outside processing operations.  
  • Monitor job progress and reschedule work as required to maintain delivery commitments.  
  • Lead daily and weekly production scheduling meetings. 

MRP & ERP Management 

  • Review and process MRP recommendations, exception messages, and planning suggestions.  
  • Validate MRP outputs and investigate planning discrepancies. 
  • Maintain schedule integrity within Epicor ERP.  
  • Firm, release, and manage production jobs according to operational priorities and material availability. 
  • Ensure routings, lead times, work centers, and planning parameters accurately support scheduling activities.  
  • Support continuous improvement of ERP and MRP planning processes. 

Capacity & Resource Planning 

  • Perform infinite and rough-cut capacity planning.  
  • Analyze machine utilization and workload distribution. 
  • Collaborate with department managers to balance workload across available resources.  
  • Identify resource constraints and recommend solutions such as overtime, subcontracting, alternate routing, or schedule adjustments. 
  • Develop long-range production plans to support forecasted demand. 

Aerospace Manufacturing Coordination 

  • Coordinate production requirements related to:   
  • CNC machining 
  • Assembly  
  • Outside processing 
  • Final inspection  
  • First Article Inspection (FAI) 
  • Ensure scheduling supports AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements.  
  • Manage schedule impacts resulting from engineering changes, drawing revisions, and customer priority shifts. 

Performance Monitoring 

  • Track and report key scheduling metrics including:   
  • On-Time Delivery (OTD) 
  • Schedule Attainment  
  • Capacity Utilization 
  • Work-In-Process (WIP)  
  • Lead Time Performance 
  • Expedite Activity  
  • Past Due Orders 
  • Analyze trends and implement corrective actions to improve performance.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years of production planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Minimum 3 years of MRP-based scheduling experience. 
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing routings, work centers, bills of material (BOM), and lead-time management.  
  • Experience with capacity planning and shop floor scheduling. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing.  
  • Epicor Kinetic ERP experience strongly preferred. 
  • APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD).  
  • Knowledge of:  
  • AS9100 requirements  
  • Aerospace quality systems 
  • FAI requirements (AS9102)  
  • Revision and configuration control 
  • CNC machining operations  
  • Outside processing management 
  • Experience with Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) systems.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor work
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and handle materials throughout the day

  • Proper PPE required and provided
