This is a role for someone who enjoys detail, structure and problem-solving, with work that directly supports operational excellence, data quality and better day-to-day decisions across the business.
You’ll create and maintain product master data, carry out validation checks, respond to routine queries and support colleagues across internal teams and suppliers. Along the way, you’ll build your knowledge of master data processes and systems, contribute to continuous improvement, and play a part in making progress for our customers and colleagues every time.
Key responsibilities
- Process, maintain and update product master data in line with established procedures and guidelines.
- Carry out data validation checks to make sure information is accurate, complete and consistent across systems.
- Work with colleagues across the business to resolve data queries and support day-to-day operations.
- Support internal teams and suppliers by responding to routine master data questions and requests.
- Follow documented master data processes and suggest improvements where appropriate.
- Assist with producing standard reports and monitoring data quality metrics.
- Support project activity and testing linked to master data changes and system enhancements.
- Meet agreed service levels and KPIs while maintaining high standards of accuracy and control.
What you'll need to have (our must-haves)
- Strong attention to detail and a real commitment to data accuracy.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet agreed deadlines.
- Confidence using computer systems and learning new applications.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different teams.
- A positive, proactive approach to problem solving.
- Competent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
It would be great if you also have
- Previous experience working with data, administration or business processes.
- An understanding of product master data or data management principles.
- Exposure to Stibo STEP or a similar data management system.
- Experience in a retail, commercial or supply chain environment.
Where your brilliance can take you
At Boots, we believe in the brilliance you already bring, and we’ll support you to grow it further. In this role, you’ll develop valuable knowledge of master data, product information, reporting, data quality and system processes, while working closely with teams across the business from our Nottingham site. It’s a great opportunity to build specialist experience in a supportive team that values accuracy, collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.
