Location: Houston, TX
Full-time, direct hire with client
Schedule: In-office; periodic domestic and international travel required (up to 20%)
Compensation: Competitive salary (based on experience), benefits package, bonus, and PTO
Responsibilities
- Conduct motions analysis of floating vessels to determine cargo accelerations and motions/clearance of lifted objects
- Perform towing analysis to determine the characteristics of towed objects, including tow tug requirements and stability
- Develop ballasting sequences for the installation of floating structures such as Launch Jackets and SPARs
- Execute mooring line installation/removal analysis for floating facilities, including FPUs, FPSOs, and SPARs
- Conduct statistical environmental analysis and assess weather downtime
- Represent the company at fabrication yards to oversee preparation and installation of critical marine equipment
- Provide offshore representation and direct guidance to offshore crews
We are considering applicants from all experience levels. However, candidates with the following experience will be highly valued:
- Relevant experience in the design and analysis of floating structures
- Programming and data analysis using tools such as Matlab or Python
- Familiarity with Orcaflex software
- Working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and practices (e.g., ABS, DNV, API, ISO codes)
- Structural design experience in grillage and sea fastenings for offshore transportation of structures is a plus
- General knowledge of hydrodynamic and stability software (e.g., MOSES, WAMIT, HydroD)
- Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., Multisurf, Rhino)
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in an appropriate field (e.g., Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering)
