Manufacturing - Materials Handler

Job Title:  Material Handler
Location: Rainsville, AL(100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Pay Range: $15.hr while training on 1st shift. Will receive $2/hr shift diff when moved to 2nd.
Shift: Training on 2st shift 6A-2:30 PM; Regular shift is 3P-11:30P

Job Description

The Material Handler I will supply lines with raw materials and move unfinished goods through the manufacturing process utilizing a forklift.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to include proper use of required PPE.
• Operate a stand-up and LP forklift safely.
• Supply raw materials where needed in the production process.
• Maintain kit carts where applicable.
• Facilitate movement of product through the production process.
• Adhere to receiving procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of parts and home locations.
• Manage and consolidate inventory in stockroom and other areas as directed.
• Participate in physical inventory activities.
• Utilize lift assistance to handle products weighing more than 50 pounds.
• Meet established efficiency and productivity standards.
• Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards.
• Additional or updated duties as business demands change.

Physical Demands

• Working at a fast pace.
• Sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time.
• Manually handling up to 50 pounds often by lift/push/pull.
• Working with the various distractions of a manufacturing environment.
• Bending, stooping, reaching occasionally.

• Forklift experience: Prior stand-up forklift experience, preferably supporting  production lines.

• Material handling: Experience supplying raw materials to production and moving products through manufacturing.
