Manufacturing Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seekingManufacturing Engineers in Oldsmar, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support process improvement and manufacturing engineering activities across circuit card assembly (CCA), cable assembly, and related electronics production operations.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electronics assembly manufacturing processes.
• Experience analyzing and improving manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, cost, and reliability.
• Experience withLean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
• Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, including:
  • Work instructions
  • Standard operating procedures
  • Training materials
  • Fixture and stencil design specifications
• Ability to work effectively with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Experience supporting process changes, trials, and manufacturing-floor implementation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and access production equipment as needed.
• Ability to lift, bend, and stretch to support manufacturing equipment and production-floor activities.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance upon conversion.

Preferred Skills

• Electronics or manufacturing assembly experience.
• Circuit card assembly (CCA) experience.
• Cable assembly experience.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with the MK48 program.
• Experience with data analytics and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Knowledge ofIPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and MIL-STD-130.
• Experience with automation, robotics, or AI-supported manufacturing.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze and optimize CCA, cable, and module manufacturing processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, reliability, and cost performance.
• Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, training materials, and process documentation.
• Develop specifications for manufacturing fixtures and stencils.
• Conduct experiments and production trials to validate process improvements.
• Support implementation of process changes on the manufacturing floor.
• Provide technical support and guidance to production personnel.
• Train and mentor manufacturing employees as needed.
• Develop and track KPIs used to measure manufacturing-process effectiveness.
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, production, and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Support equipment maintenance and repair activities where required.

Pay

• $40.00–$56.00 per hour.
• No overtime premium.
