Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end development of custom automated equipment and continuous assembly lines for iPhone enclosure parts and subassemblies.
  • Steer the full equipment lifecycle, covering initial automation proposals, vendor machine selection, prototype testing, process qualification, cycle time reduction, and retrofits.
  • Guide mechanical architectures, machine layout, part-flow kinematics, fixture design, accuracy control, and module selection.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Design to evaluate design for manufacturability (DFM) and define production capabilities.
  • Collaborate to translate product design requirements into capable manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with Global Supply Managers (GSM) to manage equipment deliverables from RFQ stage to factory deployment on schedule and within budget.
  • Drive continuous yield enhancement with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) through root cause failure analysis, defect Pareto tracking, DOE, and SPC validation.
  • Direct external automation vendors in defining mechanical tooling, fixture precision, and production readiness across Asia build sites.

Minimum Qualifications
