Manufacturing Associate

Summary/Objective
As a Manufacturing Associate at Flexible Materials Inc, you will play a key role in producing high-quality wood veneer products used in office and residential furniture, store fixtures, kitchen cabinets, automotive dashboards, and more. This position focuses on production, quality control, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, supporting our employee-owned company’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

Essential Functions

  • Inspect materials and finished products for quality and specification conformance.

  • Follow established production procedures and maintain acceptable production levels.

  • Detect and report defective materials, safety concerns, or other production issues to managers.

  • Complete necessary production documentation accurately.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is properly maintained.

  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout-tagout procedures.

  • Receive guidance and support as needed to perform production tasks effectively.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and vibration.

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with normal noise levels.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity, close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

  • Frequent standing, reaching, bending, and handling of materials.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for 1st shift and 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (second shift has a shift differential of 65 cents)

  • Overtime offered based on company needs.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • At least one year of manufacturing/production experience strongly preferred.
