Location:Remote within the contiguous U.S. We have a preference for candidates based in or near the Los Angeles area, given the role’s engagement with RTT’s Entertainment community. The role will periodically require travel to Los Angeles for in-person programming and/or availability for evening events and programs aligned to Pacific Time.

RTT’s trainings and forums have directly reached more than 100,000 participants across the U.S., many of them industry-shaping TV writers and executives, faith leaders, higher education administrators, and other leaders positioned to make far-reaching culture change and indirectly impact millions more. Informed by combined expertise in the fields of mediation, conflict transformation, trauma therapy, and social research, our methodology for building “healthy conflict” in communities isnationally recognized andhighly sought after. 


RTT’s renowned Multivocal Storytelling framework equips Hollywood creatives and executives with tools to meet one of the industry’s most urgent challenges: telling stories that resonate across audiences in a polarized America, while directly engaging charged issues that shape viewers’ lives. The Opportunity

Resetting the Table (RTT) is seeking aManaging Director, Entertainmentto lead the ongoing translation of our Entertainment program’s ambitious vision and strategy into coordinated action, overseeing the team and systems to drive high impact at a pivotal moment of growth. You will supervise three seasoned leaders rich with strategic insights, expertise, and relationships in the industry, leveraging their strengths and stewarding team cohesion and shared direction. This is a role for someone who is energized by building the conditions to support teams to excel and execute at their highest level — a highly organized orchestrator and skilled manager who turns big picture commitments into ongoing workflows and implementation. You will bring deep management experience and knowledge of the entertainment industry to a mission-driven organization with a bold vision for the role popular entertainment can play in countering our societal crisis of division and distrust.


What You’ll Do

This is a leadership role focused on overseeing a talented team, driving the structures and actionable plans that enable its success, and accelerating RTT’s impact in catalyzing humanizing stories in TV, film, and digital content that bridge divides. Your work will include:


Team Leadership & Management (50%)

  • Lead the Entertainment team to support its greatest strategic impact, working closely with senior leadership and synthesizing members’ distinct expertise and strategic perspectives toward shared goals
  • Partner with each team member to transform big-picture strategies into focused workplans through regular team meetings and one-on-ones with direct reports
  • Establish team rhythms and accountability practices that create visibility into progress, surface challenges, and keep workstreams moving forward
  • Serve as a thought partner and sounding board to the co-CEOs and senior leadership, synthesizing information across workstreams, surfacing opportunities and needs, and ensuring that day-to-day decisions stay aligned with the organization’s longer-term goals

Strategy Execution & Operationalization (30%)

  • Translate the Entertainment program’s strategies into roadmaps for execution, establishing ongoing priorities, decision-making processes, and timelines to bring the vision to life
  • Oversee and refine the systems that enable the team to manage complex work effectively, including breaking projects into tasks and deliverables, delegating ownership, tracking progress, and following through across program design and delivery, follow-on action items, and the team’s portfolio of relationships
  • Steward the production and delivery of RTT's entertainment-facing materials and communications, ensuring work is strategically aligned and reflects a high standard of excellence
  • Partner with RTT's development team to ensure capturing of the evidence, stories, and relationship data that demonstrate program impact and enhance funder reporting

Alumni Engagement Strategy (20%)

  • Hone a strategic approach to activating RTT’s alumni network, strengthening the systems, data, and engagement practices needed to deepen relationships, identify high-value opportunities, and deepen impact and connections across the industry
  • Oversee the creation of meaningful pathways for alumni to stay engaged with RTT, integrating alumni engagement into the Entertainment team’s priority work and creating opportunities for alumni to deepen their learning and collaboration with RTT
  • Continuously assess and evolve the alumni engagement strategy, identifying opportunities to increase participation and maximize the network’s contribution to RTT’s cultural impact and footprint in the entertainment industry

What You Bring

  • A track record of managing teams and driving forward complex, multi-stakeholder work with excellence and discipline
  • Professional experience in or alongside the entertainment industry, with a working understanding of the landscape, the roles, and how projects move from development through production
  • Experience overseeing and developing systems and processes that help teams prioritize, create action plans, track progress, and make decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from across functions and translate it into clear goals and deliverables
  • Excellent people manager and organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to oversee multiple workstreams and support a team in delivering at its strongest
  • Experience working closely with senior executives or organizational leaders in a high-trust capacity


Role Logistics:

  • Evening availability:This role requires periodic availability and participation in evening Entertainment program events, often aligned to Pacific Time.
  • Travel: If not based in the Los Angeles area, this role requires periodic travel to LA, as well as occasional travel to other locations.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for the Managing Director, Entertainment is $125,000–$155,000, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position with benefits. Typical office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some obligations taking place in the evenings and on weekends and periodic travel.
