Job Title:Reprocessing Services Manager
Location:West Bloomfield, MI 48322
Job Type:Contract
Shift:Schedule: M-F, 6:00am - 16:30pm, evenings, and weekends as needed
Pay Range: $55.00 - $58.00/hr.
Job Details:
- Manages and plans the activities of the Central Sterile Processing function. Manages the collection, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, high-level disinfection, distribution and inventory management. Oversees the provision of instrumentation and supplies to the surgical suites and/or operating rooms.
- Ensures optimal sterile processing performance; through quality control and quality assurance of all Sterile Processing activities and equipment.
- Monitors and reports equipment operational status. Recommends equipment changes, upgrades and additions to meet manufacturer's instructions for all items processed.
- Establishes a preventive maintenance program for Sterile Processing equipment. Maintains adequate inventory of equipment to meet requirements.
- Provides on going and effective communication with physicians, hospital/clinic department management, staff and vendor representatives.
- Represents department/Surgical Services by attending appropriate department, facility and regional meetings.
- Assures departmental standards of operation and policies are in compliance with regulatory and professional agencies
- Maintains continued education and proficiency in the field of Sterile Processing operations and equipment through education, literature and seminars. Serves as a technical expert regarding product reprocessing, decontamination, and sterilization for the facility. Demonstrates correct department processes and procedures to staff
- Develops a comprehensive departmental orientation for new staff.
- Routinely coordinates training and competency validation for all. Ensures staff work is performed within prescribed technical and safety standards. Provides or coordinates instructions and in-service on new products, procedures and equipment to identify and prevent resource loss and maintains patient and staff safety. Ensures staff attends technical and mandatory training/education.
- Supervises surgical reprocessing staff to achieve established operational performance and quality goals. Schedules staff and work to ensure cases have
- instruments and equipment when needed. Monitors and adheres to labor and expense budgets. Maintains reports in appropriate cycles for department performance and staff attendance. Develops and submits departmental budget.
- Responsible for maintaining fiscally responsible practices and meets budget expectations
- Min Exp: 5 years
- Must have: Ortho, Oral, ENT, Eyes, Robotics, Urology, GYN, Plastics, General, Neuro, Peds experience.
- Cert: BLS from AHA and CRCST
- Education: Bachelors Degree or 10 years of experience.
- Must have: prior sterile processing manager experience to be considered.
