This is an opportunity to join Manulife Singapore's Product Pricing team as a hands-on actuarial Pricing Manager, taking ownership of pricing workstreams from product design through to system implementation and launch. You will price life insurance products, including new product development and enhancements, with a focus on Indexed Universal Life (IUL). By turning rigorous actuarial analysis into clear, well-supported recommendations, you will help bring sustainable, customer-relevant products to market and contribute to our mission of making decisions easier and lives better. You will gain exposure to the full product lifecycle, work closely with Product, IT, Operations and senior Pricing and Actuarial leaders, and have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues while staying close to the technical work.
Position Responsibilities:
- Independently own pricing workstreams end to end for new life insurance products and enhancements to existing products.
- Build, enhance and run actuarial pricing models hands-on, including model development, validation and documentation.
- Perform profitability analysis, sensitivity and scenario testing, and assess key pricing assumptions, product economics and risks to arrive at pricing recommendations.Â
- Prepare pricing documentation and materials for internal governance and approval, and present and defend recommendations to Pricing, Product and Actuarial leadership.Â
- Translate approved product features and pricing specifications into system requirements, and partner with Product, IT, Operations and other functions across the product implementation lifecycle.Â
- Develop and review test scenarios, support UAT, validate system calculations and outputs, investigate discrepancies and defects, and provide actuarial support through product launch.Â
- Coordinate and drive the pricing and implementation aspects of projects, identify issues and dependencies, and work with stakeholders to resolve them.Â
- Review the actuarial and pricing work of junior colleagues and provide technical mentoring.Â
Required Qualifications:Â
- At least 5 years of relevant actuarial experience in life insurance.Â
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in life insurance product pricing, actuarial modelling and/or product implementation, including building and running models yourself rather than only reviewing them.Â
- Strong hands-on experience with an actuarial modelling platform (GGY AXIS or comparable), and the ability to transition to AXIS.Â
- Proven ability to take ownership of workstreams independently and communicate pricing recommendations clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders.Â
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or another relevant quantitative discipline.Â
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Experience pricing Indexed Universal Life (IUL) products, with familiarity with index-linked crediting, caps and participation rates, policy charges, policyholder behaviour, illustrations, and profitability and sensitivity testing.Â
- Strong hands-on GGY AXIS experience.Â
- Experience supporting end-to-end insurance product and system implementation, including requirements, UAT and validation of system outputs.Â
- Meaningful progress toward Associate or Fellow qualification with a recognized actuarial body.Â
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Â
- Experience reviewing actuarial work and mentoring more junior colleagues.Â
When you join our team:Â
- We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.Â
- We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.Â
- As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.Â
