If you are ready to create unforgettable experiences and grow as a person and as a professional, apply today.As Manager, Port Adventures & Recreation, you will oversee the daily Port Adventures (shore excursions) operation while providing guidance and development for direct reports. You will also manage the shipboard Recreation team and operational areas, which includes management of Port Adventures and Recreation Staff, Wide World of Sports Deck, and pool areas.
You will report to the Cruise Director.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure a positive Guest experience onboard while on tour in all ports of call
- Manage onboard Port Adventures operational budget
- Provide leadership for all direct reports
- Oversee all excursion dispatches from ship to tour operator (meeting locations, required paperwork, waivers)
- Communicate with Cruise Director and shore side Operations regarding consistency of operation between ships, shore excursion providers, Crew scheduling, team performance
- Maintain and oversee ordering of supplies and equipment for each appropriate area
- Perform site inspections for possible new tours
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum three years experience in a leadership role
- Minimum three years experience working within a position that shows sales experience, recreational experience and tour operations knowledge
- Previous ship operations experience in role of Shore Excursion Manager or similar
- College degree or related schooling associated with recreation, education, business, tourism, marketing/sales, or related field of study
- Relate well to audiences of all ages and demographics while offering a passion for Guest service
- Pass a pre-hire swim and complete lifeguard training (conducted upon arrival on Orlando, Florida); certification requirements must also be maintained throughout contract
- Detect and respond to noises and distress signals in an aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
- Can observe all sections of an assigned zone or responsibilities.
- Pass a vision screening with at least 20/25 vision, corrected or uncorrected.

You must:
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
