Manager, Operations Training

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida

We offer competitive wages, strong benefits, and the chance to do work that matters with an organization built around it.

Behind every smooth donation drop-off, every well-run retail floor, and every warehouse that hits its numbers safely, there's a training program someone built with intention. That's this job.

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is looking for a Manager, Operations Training to lead how we teach, equip, and support the Team Members who run our retail, donation, warehouse, and operations teams. You'll turn SOPs and safety standards into training that actually sticks in the field, and you'll partner closely with operations leaders to figure out what's really driving performance, whether that's a skills gap, a broken process, or something else entirely.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Set operations learning priorities in partnership with the Senior Director, Learning and Engagement, tying them to KPIs, safety, and business goals
  • Diagnose performance gaps through field observation, data, and leader input, and recommend fixes that go beyond a training class
  • Design and maintain curricula, job aids, e-learning, and assessments that hold up across hourly, supervisory, and multi-site audiences
  • Keep SOPs and training aligned as processes evolve, working directly with the teams who own them
  • Facilitate training, coach in the field, and lead rollouts, from communications and logistics through post-launch feedback
  • Measure what matters, using LMS data, KPIs, and a framework like Kirkpatrick's to show real impact, not just completion rates
  • Lead an instructional design team and partner across HR, Safety, Loss Prevention, IT, and Operations on change initiatives

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, HR, Education, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field (master's a plus)
  • Five-plus years in learning and development, instructional design, training facilitation, or operations training
  • Supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to direct instructional design, training, or project resources preferred.
  • A track record of running projects end to end, from needs analysis through measurement and improvement
  • Comfort designing for retail, warehouse, or other multi-site operations
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc.)
  • Proficiency in e-learning tools like Articulate Rise or Storyline
  • The insight to know when the solution is training versus another course of action, and the ability to influence others in that direction

This is a role for someone who likes being out in the field as much as designing content, who can move fluidly between strategy conversations with leadership and coaching sessions on a warehouse floor. You'll have real input into how thousands of Team Members learn to do their jobs safely and consistently, in service of a mission that builds lives that work.

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is an equal opportunity employer.
