Manager Manufacturing FinanceÂ
Job Position Overview:Â
This position supports site readiness from a finance perspective and transitions to ownership of ongoing manufacturing costing and production variance analysis for Lilly's new parenteral manufacturing site in Alzey.Â
As site finance business partner, the role establishes and runs standard costing, month-end and forecasting processes, drives financial insight to operational stakeholders, and secures financial control and audit readiness through ramp-up and into steady-state operations.Â
Responsibilities:Â
Own and improve finance for the businessÂ
- Own the annual standard costing process for own produced goods and input materials.Â
- Own month end and year end for production orders and stock valuation, including order settlement, variance analysis and stock devaluation.Â
- Act as Business Partner driving continuous improvement and efficiency, reflected in standard costs and production variances.Â
- Support site expense planning in business plan and forecast, and build roadmaps to achieve plan/forecast.Â
- Turn results into financial insights for key stakeholders.Â
- Support financial control and audit readiness of the site's financial data, processes and results.Â
- Further develop local finance processes with local and global functions to secure operational readiness.Â
- Support the transition from construction to operations.Â
Support/Influence site business needsÂ
- Work closely with production, quality and engineering, connecting financial performance with business activities.Â
- Participate in internal and external audits.Â
Support local & global finance policies, goals, and objectivesÂ
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Lilly's Global Finance organization and counterparts at other Lilly sites.Â
- Ensure compliance with Lilly financial policies and procedures, and regulatory commitments.Â
- Develop AI-driven solutions for local finance processes and contribute to Lilly's global AI programs.Â
Basic Qualifications:Â
- Education Level:Â Bachelor's degree in business administration or economics, or an equivalent qualification (e.g. Betriebswirt (IHK), Controller (CA), CIMA or ACCA).Â
- Experience: At least 5 years in finance in an international manufacturing company – in FP&A, planning and forecasting, product costing or production variance analysis; hands-on SAP experience in a production environment (S/4HANA a strong advantage). Life science or another regulated industry is an advantage.Â
- Certifications:Â Professional certification or training in international accounting standards (ideally US-GAAP) is a plus.Â
- Language Requirements:Â Business-fluent English required; strong German skills are highly valued, or a clear willingness to learn German quickly.Â
Additional Skills/ Preferences:Â
- Standard costing and production variance analysis in a regulated manufacturing environment.Â
- Ability to navigate US-GAAP alongside local statutory reporting (e.g. HGB).Â
- Working knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI or Tableau, and AI-driven tools.Â
- Learning agility and comfort with continual change in a greenfield / ramp-up environment.Â
- Works autonomously, prioritises and makes independent decisions; influences diverse groups internally and externally.Â
- Strong teamwork, presentation and interpersonal skills.Â

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
 €48.750 -  €115.500Full-time equivalent employees may also be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
