Manager, Maintenance (Reliability)

An established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Reliability Manager to lead equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and long-term asset performance across a complex production environment.

This senior leadership position will develop reliability strategies, strengthen maintenance programs, and partner with operational and technical teams to improve uptime, reduce recurring failures, and build greater equipment dependability. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to lead teams, develop people, and implement lasting improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organization’s reliability and asset-management strategy
• Improve equipment uptime, availability, and overall operational performance
• Strengthen preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs
• Lead root-cause investigations and chronic-failure elimination efforts
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering on equipment priorities
• Establish performance measures and use data to identify improvement opportunities
• Develop and mentor engineers, technicians, and maintenance professionals
• Improve reliability systems, work practices, and technical standards
• Support long-term capital and asset-improvement planning
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Ten or more years of experience in reliability, maintenance, engineering, or asset management
• Five or more years of leadership or team-development experience
• Background within heavy industrial or process manufacturing environments
• Pulp and paper experience is preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance, root-cause analysis, predictive maintenance, and rotating equipment
• Demonstrated ability to improve equipment performance and develop technical teams
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred Experience

• CMRP or another relevant professional certification
• Condition monitoring, vibration analysis, or lubrication certification
• Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience
• Experience implementing operator-led reliability practices
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
