In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, external authors and agency partners to support publications from planning through delivery, gain broad exposure across Medical Affairs and Clinical Development and build your expertise while contributing to communications that support patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies.


Position Summary:

​​​​​The Manager, Integrated Publications is responsible for coordinating and executing the end-to-end lifecycle of scientific publications for assigned Taiho Oncology therapeutic areas, including oncology products in the solid tumor and hematological malignancies. This role serves as the central integration point across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and external agency partners to ensure that clinical and scientific data are communicated accurately, compliantly, and strategically to the global scientific community. All activities are conducted in adherence to ICMJE authorship guidelines, GPP3 standards, applicable FDA guidance, and Taiho Oncology publication SOPs and policies.


Performance Objectives:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain integrated publication plans aligned with clinical development timelines, data readouts and the Taiho Oncology medical strategy for assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Coordinate the full lifecycle of scientific publications, including abstracts, manuscripts, posters, oral presentations and plain language summaries from concept through journal submission and post-publication activities.
  • Manage all publication activities within iEnvision DataVision, including tracking milestones, collecting authorship agreements, financial disclosures and author approvals in an audit-ready manner, in accordance with Taiho Oncology’s Publication Planning and Implementation SOP (MA-1402.001).
  • Ensure strict compliance with ICMJE authorship criteria, GPP3 publication guidelines, and all applicable Taiho Oncology internal policies governing scientific publication practices.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical, Biostatistics, and Regulatory colleagues to align on data availability, messaging priorities, and publication readiness.
  • Serve as a liaison with external medical communications and publication agencies, providing clear direction, quality oversight and timely feedback to ensure deliverables meet Taiho Oncology standards.
  • Support congress planning activities, including managing the distribution of versions for review with internal and external authors, abstract submission calendars, developing and maintaining poster and presentation timelines, and scientific congress logistics coordination.
  • Support manuscript development, including managing the distribution of versions for review with internal and external authors, communicating feedback to internal writers or external medical communication agencies, developing and maintaining manuscript timelines, preparing and submitting manuscripts to journals and coordinating journal feedback.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic investigators, and external co-authors to ensure engaged and timely participation in publication activities.
  • Schedule and participate in cross-functional publication governance meetings, providing status updates, identifying risks, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of publication policies, guidelines, and SOPs in adherence to applicable regulatory guidance and Taiho Oncology compliance standards.
  • Support the creation of scientific content including data dissemination strategies, executive summaries, and backgrounders to support internal scientific training and medical communications goals.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • ​​​​Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field required.
  • ​Advanced degree (MSc, PharmD, PhD, or MD) strongly preferred. Licensure or certification in a health sciences field is a plus.​

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 3 years with an advanced degree in pharmaceutical publication management, medical communications, or medical affairs. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ICMJE authorship guidelines, GPP3 publication standards, and pharmaceutical publication compliance requirements. 
  • Hands-on experience with publication management platforms, preferably iEnvision DataVision. 
  • Experience in oncology or specialty therapeutics is preferred; familiarity with solid tumor and/or hematological malignancy clinical trial design is a plus. 
  • Strong scientific and clinical knowledge with the ability to critically evaluate complex data and communicate findings clearly to diverse stakeholders. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated proficiency in communicating across all levels of the organization. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities and concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, matrixed environment. 
  • Experience managing medical communications agency relationships and external vendor partnerships. 
  • Prior experience with AI tools and supporting the implementation of AI-driven solutions to improve publication processes.​ 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $144,500 - $170,000 annually. This pay range is based on the market range for positions of this type. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including annual bonus/incentive comp plans, potential long term incentive plan, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate/employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
