AboutMaverick Collective

Maverick Collective is a philanthropic community for womenย with means and purpose to learn, invest, and take action together on advancing health and equity in the U.S. and around the world.

Maverick Collective was founded in 2013 by global health organization Population Services International (PSI), Melinda French Gates, and leading women philanthropists. In January 2026, we became an independent organization with an expanded mission driven by deep field partnerships and a vibrant member community.

Maverick Collective is for women who are ready to move from intention to action, from passive to purposeful, from writing occasional checks to learning and building something that compounds over time. Members engage through tailored programming, hands-on learning, and experiences with one another and with the communities they invest in; all rooted in values of boldness, curiosity, collaboration, and joy.

Maverick Collective is led by two Managing Partners in a co-leadership model that embodies our ethos of shared power and collaboration. We are building a lean and high-functioning team that can move and adapt quickly, experiment creatively, and inspire new models of working; all while holding ourselves to the highest standard of performance and organizational culture.

The Role

Maverick Collective is looking for a Manager of Experience who brings exceptional operational excellence and a genuine creative sensibility. This role draws on many disciplines โ€” experiential marketing, luxury hospitality, learning design, brand strategy, client success โ€” and the right candidate may have built their career in any one of them, or across several. What matters is not the title you have held, but the range you bring. This is not a role for someone who works from a template. We are looking for someone who approaches every gathering โ€” whether an intimate dinner, a global convening, or a virtual learning session โ€” as a bespoke opportunity to deepen connection, spark action, and bring the Maverick energy to life in a way that is fresh, resonant, and impossible to replicate elsewhere.

The best experiences don't follow a script. They are designed around the people taking part, the moment we are in, and what becomes possible when both align. We are looking for someone who understands this intuitively โ€” who brings the instinct for hospitality, surprise, and meaning that turns an experience into something people carry with them long after it ends. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to design and execute high-touch experiences that build lasting connection, not by replicating what has worked before, but by asking what this moment, community, and purpose demands.

The Manager of Experience will work closely with the Managing Partners on experience strategy and design โ€” bringing informed perspective and creative input โ€” while taking full ownership of execution. You will produce our full programming portfolio: Maverick-produced in-person events, presence at key global convenings, Deep Learning & Investment Cohort experiences, and virtual programming. You report directly to a Managing Partner and are expected to run programs with precision, care, and a high standard of member experience.

What You'll Do

Workload percentages are approximate and will shift with the rhythm of programming and the organization.

Experience Design & Execution (65%)

  • Collaborate with the Managing Partners to bring the Maverick member experience to life across key programs โ€” executing with creativity, range, and a high standard of quality.
  • Approach each experience as a bespoke, intentional creation: calibrated to the audience, adapted to the moment, and reflective of what makes Maverick Collective distinct. Produce retreats, regional in-person gatherings, intimate member events, and a regular virtual programming cadence. Events are intentionally small โ€” rarely more than 50 people โ€” where the quality of connection is paramount.
  • Work closely with the Managing Partners and institutional counterparts to execute experiential learning opportunities with frontline leaders and global issue area experts.
  • Develop learning agendas, briefing materials, and experience frameworks that are rigorous, engaging, and worthy of our membersโ€™ time.
  • Coordinate Maverick Collective's presence at key global convenings, curating learning and engagement experiences that go beyond attendance and deepen the impact of our work.
  • Design and manage virtual programming โ€” including member calls, learning sessions, and digital convenings โ€” with the same level of care and intentionality as in-person experiences.
  • Drive the full arc of every experience โ€” from first concept through final documentation โ€” developing and managing program budgets with accuracy and keeping every detail accounted for, on time, and within agreed parameters.
  • Manage end-to-end logistics for all programs: venue sourcing, travel coordination, vendor management, and all pre- and post-event planning, across both US domestic and international settings.
  • Manage project timelines and vendor relationships across multiple concurrent programs with precision and proactivity.
  • Maintain thorough records, resource libraries, and documentation for each program.
  • Work with the team to maintain digital platforms and tools that support a seamless online member experience.

Member Relations & Community (20%)

  • Serve as a point of contact for Maverick Collective members โ€” anticipating needs, personalizing the experience, and holding a consistently exceptional standard of responsiveness, warmth, and care.
  • Know the community well enough to design for it with specificity: understanding what different members need, how they engage, and how to deepen connection across a diverse and discerning audience.
  • Communicate fluidly across internal and external stakeholders โ€” from team members and members to institutional partners, vendors, and speakers โ€” calibrating tone and approach for each.
  • Steward ongoing relationships with partners and vendors to ensure a consistently high-quality, high-touch experience at every touchpoint.

Communications & Creative Assets (15%)

  • Draft member-facing communications and post-event assets โ€” including event invitations, briefing books, program recaps, and highlights โ€” that reflect the warmth, quality, and voice of the Maverick brand.
  • Maintain an organized library of photography and visual assets sourced from events and programming, ensuring materials are accessible and ready to use.
  • Design and format materials as needed using tools such as InDesign, holding brand standards with care and consistency across all outputs.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Partners on visual and written communications, bringing an eye for design and an understanding of how materials represent the organization externally.
  • Apply light video editing skills to shape event and recap footage into shareable content for member and external audiences.

Who We're Looking For

  • 5-7 years of experience across one or more relevant disciplines: experiential marketing, luxury or high-touch event design, learning design, brand experience, client success, or a related field.
  • A genuine creative sensibility โ€” you bring thoughtfulness and originality to every experience and have work that demonstrates it.
  • A client success orientation: you understand that the member is at the center of every decision, and you design for differentiated audiences with precision and care.
  • The ability to hold the full arc of execution โ€” bringing creative perspective to the design process and seeing every detail through to the end.
  • Strong stakeholder fluency: comfortable working across a range of internal and external audiences, from intimate member relationships to institutional partners, vendors, and speakers.
  • A hospitality mindset: you believe the experience is the product, and you invest in every detail accordingly.
  • Excellent written communication skills. Able to write clearly, warmly, and with sophistication for a discerning audience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. Able to run multiple concurrent workstreams simultaneously without losing precision.
  • Experience producing virtual events and fluency with digital platforms and tools.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as InDesign or similar; an eye for layout, visual quality, and brand consistency. Light video editing experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with or deep curiosity about the issues Maverick Collective works on โ€” health equity, women's economic empowerment, climate resilience, and more. You don't need to be a sector expert, but you need to care.
  • Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment where ambiguity is part of the job and initiative is expected.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as programs require.
  • BA/BS required; relevant advanced degree a plus.

What We Offer

  • A front-row seat at a pivotal moment in Maverick Collective's evolution.
  • Close collaboration with co-leaders at a small, high-trust organization.
  • Exposure to the world of philanthropy, social impact, and womenโ€™s leadership.
  • Access to extraordinary convenings, remarkable members, and a community of women changemakers doing serious work with joy.
  • Competitive nonprofit compensation and benefits.

Maverick Collective is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with preference given to those that apply before November 11, 2026.
