Â
POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Â
The Manager, Energy Communications is a key communications leader for Moss' Energy business unit — leading internal and field communications execution that connects, informs and engages teammates across the nation's leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firm. Reporting to the Director, Energy Communications, this role helps translate business priorities into clear, relevant communications for a large, geographically distributed workforce.
Â
This role manages communications products and programs that reach Moss' Energy workforce, including craft team members, jobsite teams, remote employees and corporate staff. The Manager will lead recurring internal communications, leader communications, field engagement, employee listening and measurement while partnering closely with Energy leaders, Project Executives, Superintendents, Safety, Human Resources and other business partners. This is a hands-on role for a strong strategist and doer who can build relationships, simplify complex information and deliver high-quality communications at pace.
Â
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Â
·       Lead internal and field communications execution across the Energy BU, developing communications that connect field, remote and office-based teammates to business priorities, project milestones, organizational developments and key initiatives
·       Manage recurring Energy communications and internal communications products, ensuring content is clear, timely, relevant and aligned with established editorial standards
·       Support and maintain the Energy BU editorial calendar in partnership with the Director, Energy Communications — coordinating content, timing, channels and cross-functional inputs
·       Develop communications approaches specifically designed for project and field teammates, recognizing differences in work environment, information needs and access to traditional corporate channels
·       Develop leader communications including talking points, emails, presentations, FAQs, toolkits and materials for town halls, leadership meetings and employee engagement opportunities
·       Equip project leaders and superintendents with simple, practical communications tools they can use directly with their teams
·       Establish strong relationships across project teams to identify emerging issues, teammate questions, project milestones and compelling people stories
·       Partner with Safety, Operations, Human Resources and other functions to coordinate teammate communications, support key campaigns and reduce unnecessary communication volume and duplication
·       Support change and issues communications — developing FAQs, leader materials and other resources for organizational changes, business developments and sensitive or complex topics in close partnership with the Director, Energy Communications
·       Track communications reach, engagement, understanding and field participation; develop quarterly scorecards and use data and teammate feedback to improve channels, content and cadence
·       Identify opportunities to recognize employees and teams and celebrate project and business accomplishments
·       Use AI and emerging tools to improve the speed, quality and consistency of communications while maintaining strong editorial standards
Â
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Â
·       A strong communications professional who is both a strategist and a doer — comfortable moving from planning and counsel to hands-on writing and execution
·       An exceptional writer and editor who can make complex information clear, concise and relevant for different audiences and channels
·       A credible partner to field-based operations who understands that effective communication for craft workers and jobsite teams looks different from traditional corporate communications
·       Comfortable advising leaders and building trusted relationships across various levels of an organization
·       A natural connector who listens well, builds relationships and creates meaningful two-way communication across a distributed workforce
·       Someone who brings strong organization and editorial discipline — able to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, inputs and channels without losing sight of the audience
·       High judgment and discretion when handling sensitive, high-visibility or fast-moving business information
·       A collaborative, people-first teammate who can work effectively across Safety, Operations, Human Resources and other functions
·       Embodies Moss' values: Work Hard, Be Nice, Have Fun
Â
QUALIFICATIONS
Â
·       Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, business administration or a related field
·       7+ years of progressive communications experience, including meaningful experience in employee, internal, field or change communications
