Job Description:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability for emerging company clients in industries ranging from technology, food & beverage, health & beauty, professional services, and other high-growth industries.
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Possess strong business acumen to understand the needs and challenges of growth stage businesses and owners, and provide tailored services.
• Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for clients which includes corporations, partnerships and personal income tax filings.
• Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting emerging companies.
• Conduct research to address complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
• Identify opportunities for expanding services and growing the client base within the emerging companies group.
• Understand your clients, their goals and objectives, the emerging companies’ industry, and trends that will impact them, while applying the knowledge when directing the teams in the delivery of service to our clients.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of professionals within the emerging companies group while providing training and support to ensure the team’s professional growth and performance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance within the emerging companies group.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA required.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on the Emerging Companies’ core industries.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office applications.

The pay ranges for this position are listed below. This range represents a good-faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation the firm expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of relevant factors, including an applicant’s skills, experience, qualifications, professional certifications, work arrangements, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Baker Tilly offers acompensation and benefits package to eligible employees.

In New York, NY: pay rate range is $112,500 to $168,000

In Uniondale, NY: pay rate range is $108,000 to $161,200

In Iselin, NJ: pay rate range is $103,500 to $154,500
