Manager (all genders) Logistics Network Planning

THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

The Logistics Network Planning team at Zalando ensures an optimal network setup by balancing commercial ambitions with operational capabilities, enabling fast, reliable, and efficient service. As aManager (all genders) in the Logistics Network Planning team, you will be responsible for steering Inbound, Returns, and Replenishment volumes, ensuring smooth logistics operations and optimal capacity utilization across our network. You will manage your domain autonomously, generate valuable insights to drive continuous improvements, and work closely with SPOs, Transport Operations, and Inbound Support teams to align capacities, optimize processes, and resolve complex operational challenges. 

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• New Goods Inbound Steering & Capacity Optimization: Autonomously manage the flow of inbound goods, ensuring efficient network capacity utilization and proactively expanding reporting and planning solutions.

• Daily Return Steering: Direct unprocessed returns to the right Returns Centers (RCs) to enable the fastest reimbursement times for customers while anticipating and solving network bottlenecks.

• Stock Replenishment Across Fulfillment Centers (FCs): Plan and execute strategic stock redistribution to maintain optimal assortment availability across the network, translating analytical insights into effective operational workflows.

• Network Analysis & KPI Management: Utilize and explain key logistics KPIs and reporting tools to generate actionable insights from analysis and planning activities, driving network performance and continuous improvement.

• Process & Tool Optimization: Continuously enhance tools and workflows used for daily operations, reducing repetitive tasks and increasing network efficiency.

• Stakeholder Management & Mentorship: Build strong relationships within your team and across extended stakeholder networks. Understand stakeholder challenges to proactively support them, while guiding, onboarding, and mentoring less experienced team members.

• Analytical & Autonomous: Logical thinker with strong numerical acumen who generates actionable insights from data, manages work autonomously, and effectively prioritizes workload in a fast-paced environment.

• Stakeholder & Network Builder: Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships, understand stakeholder needs, and proactively collaborate to solve complex operational challenges.

• KPI & Tool Proficiency: Strong familiarity with relevant logistics KPIs, planning, and reporting tools. Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets is required (knowledge of Apps Script or advanced automation tools is a plus).

• Solution-Oriented & Adaptable: Hands-on mindset, resilient under pressure, and proactive in driving initiatives beyond the immediate core scope.

• Communication: Fluent in English; German is a plus.
